Upgrades increase the value of certain numeric stats on armor, weapons and rings. Upgrades can also boost bonuses like crit chance and PvE Damage.

For example an item with the upgrade template that ends in % will take on an attack damage of 3% each time it is upgraded (relative to its previous value).

The cost of upgrading an item is determined by the item's level. The cost increases with item's level.

Components

Upgrade components can be added to trinkets, weapons and armor to give them a stat boost or to add an additional effect. They can be obtained through crafting, purchasing from vendors, trading with other players or looting. Some upgrades have special cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components can be inserted into any equipment that has a slot to accommodate them. The item must be at a minimum upgraded to blue level for a component to be used. Like other mods, upgrade components can only be used once and cannot be applied repeatedly or replaced by new upgrades. Infusions and enrichments are a specific kind of upgrade component that is that is designed for non-amulet ascended and legendary equipment and some of the items that are not ascending back. Infusions and enrichments can be retrieved by salvaging gear from the ascended, or by completing an elite mission in the Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall campaigns.

An upgrade may include a suffix or prefix changing the name of the equipment with the upgrade (for examplethe 'Canthan Armor Insignia is changed to Canthan Armor of Minor Vigor). Certain upgrades boost an item's Mark Level, or Rarity, which allows players to make stronger versions of the equipment that require fewer Upgrade Crystals than are required to achieve the same upgrade level through normal methods.

A 'boost upgrade' can modify the attack or defense attributes of a weapon or armor. After the player has completed the cutscene and defeated Crazed Mechanist the upgrades can be created at the Portative Forging Station. These upgrades are available for purchase them in the cash shop or getting them from enemies while upgrading other equipment.

The player is able to have up to five boost upgrades at a time; each upgrade increases the probability that a higher-tier version of the item will appear in the next reset. This gives players a reason to upgrade their gear even if they are unsure what can be improved upon the reset.

Whether a boost Upgrade Item is successful or not, the process can be costly and there is a high chance that the item could be obsolete or even break if it fails. Glyphs

Glyphs can be used to improve the Paragon Board by placing them in sockets with special functions. Glyphs buff the power of all nodes in the area around them, including pre-existing affixes on equipment. Glyphs can be upgraded in numerous ways. We suggest upgrading them as soon as possible to level 15.

It is commonplace to see in the endgame that putting Glyphs is a great method to upgrade your gear. These are the only upgrade components that can be upgraded to level 15 and offer an enormous boost to your power on the Paragon Board.

Glyphs, the only upgrade component that can be removed without restriction and replaced with no restrictions are the most commonly used. Only legendary equipment can be salvaged and replaced with a Black Lion Salvage Kit.

Each Glyph has a particular range of values that can enhance a stat by. The value is displayed when you select the Glyph in your inventory. You can replace it with an Glyph that is the same or higher rank to boost the value of the Glyph.

Glyphs can be found in the Black Lion Trading Post as part of an Gem Store bundle or purchase the glyphs with certain tools that allow unlimited use and also during Faction Crypt Raids. Leveling

Each level of item requires various components, and upgrade costs increase with each level.

Certain upgrades require an ingredient to be activated. This ingredient can be obtained by finishing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be purchased from NPCs or on the upgrade tab of crafting tables. Each completed Upgrade Recipe yields some Technology Points. These points can be used to upgrade item the item, and when enough are earned, the upgrade will be claimed and its additional bonuses will be added to the item.

When a player upgrade an item the original item will be replaced with the new item. This means that the same armor piece will get a weapon or shield when upgraded. The new item also comes with its own set bonus. This could be a disadvantage since the item may be more expensive even if you do not need it.

The item also loses any bonuses it gained, such as crit chance attack damage, other effects (such as increased heal over time, or the speed of reloading). The player is able to use their weapon or armor after the failure.

If an item is upgraded the upgrades are applied from the lowest to the highest. This means that when a weapon gains an increase in the chance of crit it will be applied prior to any increase in attack damage. Slots is a new attribute that was added to item definitions. The value is recalculated every time an upgrade occurs.

The amount of resources needed to upgrade an item is based on the rarity rating and number of upgrade slots. The cost of upgrading non-premium equipment is equal to the value of the base item upgrader mod. Premium items could have different upgrade requirements from regular gear. For instance, they may need fewer sowels, but more minerals and orons. Regardless, the player will need to visit the NPC [ArmorBoboko in Central Flarine. Boboko in Central Flarine with each piece of equipment they wish to upgrade. In addition to the upgrade costs listed above, each equipment upgrade requires a different amount of the ingredients for upgrading.
