World of Warcraft Item Upgrades

Item upgrades are a way to boost the stats of an item. Depending on the upgrade type it can boost an item's Mark Level or Rarity and boost additional stats.

Upgrading gear in The War Within requires a specified number of Flightstones and Crests Each item has an upgrade track. Each upgrade increases the cost of the following one by a certain amount.

Item Level

When an item gets upgraded, its stats improve in value. This is the sum of an item's upgraded perks (attack magic attack and defense). Upgrading items can be expensive depending on the upgrader and the kind of upgrade you decide to perform. This is due to the fact that many perks need to be replaced in order for the item to get upgraded.

It is also used as a gating requirement while waiting for dungeons, raids and scenarios. It also serves as a gating requirement while waiting to queue for dungeons and raids and scenarios, and to limit the amount of PvP gear players can wear (since PvP is restricted to the lower levels). Players can view their average item level in their character sheet.

Utilizing the level of an item will allow players to compare the power of equipment when deciding to purchase or sell. It's a measure of the item's damage and its quality. The level of the item can be used to compare items when evaluating a vendor's inventory.

On your PC, you can see the level of the item by pressing ALT or using the left stick on XB1 or PS4. This will display the full description of the item, as well as its level. It can also be found by hovering an item with the mouse cursor, and then entering /itemlevel into chat.

There are several theories about the method by which the level of an item is determined. One theory says that the level of an item is calculated using an equation that determines the worth of an item's stats really are. It takes into consideration that different benefits are valued differently and that gems found in sockets increase the value of the item upgrading. This can lead to a calculated item's ilvl that is often very close to Blizzard's real level of the item.

This is not the only factor that affects the ilvl of an item upgrade. The level of the area where the item dropped can also change its stats. For instance, it could increase the item upgrading's haste, or crit rating. Items dropped in higher-level instances will have higher ilvl.

Item Stats

Item stats are a big element in what makes or breaks an item for players. The game uses a lot of them in different ways to encourage players to use multiple weapons, and also to stop one weapon from being "the most effective." The base stats of a weapon are boosted by the weapon's stat modifications which are then enhanced by the player's level.

Upgrades to an item may increase the stats of an item. The costs for upgrades are determined by the rarity of the item. An item that is white or grey for instance, will only be upgraded once however, items with rare tiers can be upgraded multiple times with higher costs.

Another method of altering the stats on an item is by affixing it. They are stat boosts that can be added by the player to an item. Affixes can be used to give the item additional damage, add a special capability to the item (such as reviving the dead or decreasing cooldowns), or make the item unique by adding an additional name to the item.

All affixes are being re-rolled right now by selecting them in the upgrade window, and pressing the green button. It will cost a set amount of gold and other items. These can be used as upgrade gauges, similar to other rerolling methods.

In addition to Rerolling affixes and rerolls, players can also choose which stats they want to keep on an item after it is upgraded. The range of stats determined by the item's level. However every item will contain at least one stat within that range unless they are an item that is unique, or a God Roll from a boss in a raid.

This is another thing that could be altered by adding the option to upgrade the equipment without rerolling the affixes or choosing which stats to enhance. But as with base equipment, this would have to be done on a per-item basis, and the item compare interface wouldn't show all possible stats gained or lost at once.

Item Luck

The Luck stat of a player stacks up to increase the likelihood of finding items as well as the properties that appear on loot drops, and the intensity of those properties. However, it does not directly affect damage or the ability to upgrade items. It gives players an opportunity to get better gear earlier in the game. This is more advantageous in the early game, because players tend to put defenses and weapon scaling over raw damage gains.

In addition to influencing item discovery, Luck also increases the chances of success when upgrading items with the Blacksmith. This is not to be confused with the Blacksmith's overall chances of upgrading, which increase with each item level. It is also possible to be enhanced by using anti-materials like a Scroll of Strength and a Jewel of Blessing.

Weapons, armor, and shields can spawn or be crafted with the Luck property, which has an initial value of 40. These items can then be enhanced by golden ingots, spined leather or oak boards (depending on the material of the item) to grant a further +40 Luck, or to increase the existing Luck of an item, up to 140.

Certain items, such as the Hollow-infused weapon, can also be equipped to increase the damage dealt by any skill that deals damage by 5%. These items are available in the shop or crafted with the right ingredients.

Item Failure

Not all upgrades are successful. However, there are cash shop items that allow players to boost their chances of success or even prevent them from losing an item if the upgrade fails.

When you upgrade an item the rate of success is displayed in the Honing UI. The percentage indicates the probability of successfully upgrading the item. This can be increased with Additional Materials or Special Materials. There are limitations on the extent to which success rates can be increased, and the overall chance of an upgrade failing cannot be greater than 100%..

The success of an item can be affected by the luck of that item. Every item has an average success rate of 25% and each item with Luck increases the chance of success by 5percent.

It is important to note that upgrade items are rendered above the items in the inventory, so enchantment glint and other effects may be obscured by them. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the item upgrader; visit your url, CORE client config.
