Many studies have studied the use of ML to detect ADHD. Most of the studies have relied on MRI data. Other studies have examined the use of eye movements. Some of the benefits of these methods include the accessibility and reliability of EEG signals. However, these methods have limitations in sensitivity and specificity.

Researchers at Aalto University studied the eye movements of children playing a game that simulates reality. This was done to determine if a ML algorithm could differentiate between ADHD and normal children. The results demonstrated that machine learning algorithms can be used to detect ADHD children.

Another study compared machine learning algorithms' efficiency. The results revealed that random forest techniques have a higher percentage of robustness and lower risk prediction errors. In the same way, a test of permutation had higher accuracy than randomly assigned labels.
